Counselling Services

Evidence-based treatment for a range of mental health issues.

Professional Counselling

As a trauma-informed therapist, I feel deeply honored to hear my clients' personal stories and to be able to walk with them on their journey towards healing. I prioritize creating an environment of safety and acceptance where every part of my client - every emotion, fear, reaction, and question is welcome, valid, and worth exploring with care and compassion.

I view the work that takes place in therapy as a collaborative effort built on a foundation of trust and connection. The therapeutic relationship is both unique and powerful - it is the cornerstone of successful treatment.  In therapy, clients bring the deep knowledge of their own history, lived experiences, and intersecting identities. I intentionally create space to learn from them in this way while using my professional knowledge and personal experience to be a source of support, perspective, and guidance. I offer a gentleness that creates safety and connection while also challenging, supporting, and empowering clients to engage with their fears and/or trauma in meaningful ways that promote healing and growth.

My Commitment

I am committed to evidence-based treatments:
I am committed to employing evidence-based treatments in my practice to better assist my clients in overcoming challenges and increase their quality of life. I believes that effective counselling fundamentally involves working both with the mind and the manifestation of emotional experiences stored in the body.

Every client has a unique path to healing and emotional processing and I facilitate this with openness, warmth, and a clear path towards meeting therapeutic goals. Evening and weekend appointments are available upon request.

Counselling For Individuals

Individual therapy with a client autonomy centered approach:
Therapy is a place where you can explore personal concerns, trauma, goals, emotions, moods, and dysregulated behavioral patterns, in a safe, unbiased, judgement-free space. I provide clients with the opportunity to explore and process their pasts in a meaningful way - allowing for positive and sustainable changes to their current and future functioning.
While I provide therapy for a variety of mental health issues, I specialize in complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and alexithymia. I  provide trauma treatment to members of the general public, First Responders and other healthcare providers, including Counsellors, Social Workers, and Nurses who have experienced traumatic events of different kinds.
I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches throughout the course of treatment - including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Treatment for PTSD,  & Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I regularly employ mindfulness-based techniques and Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping to assist with anxiety.

Couples Counselling

Counselling for all intimate partner relationships independent of identity.
Our romantic partnerships are often the place where we find our greatest peace and support. However, these relationships can also experience periods of conflict and disconnect. Couples might consider counselling after major transitions within the relationship, when they find themselves stuck in a seemingly repetitive pattern, or at times where they may not be certain whether the relationship should continue. I take time to understand the perspectives and concerns of each partner and and help you to develop new ways of relating to one another that help you to feel connected, valued, and inspired within the relationship.
When working with couples, I use the Gottman Therapy approach - which is a research-based approach to relationships. The goals of Gottman Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
